Contra War Nicaragua 1985
1965 photo and film reportage on the Contra War in Nicaragua .
The Nicaraguan Revolution of 1978 and 1979 ended with the Somoza dictatorship. The period from 1981 to 1990 was known as the Contra War. Atrocities committed by both sides led me to question whether I, as a photojournalist, could judge which side was right. The reportage made me question whether this was my way to go in photography.
I was assigned by WDR and a few magazines to report on the work of solidarity groups in Nicaragua.
